With a magnificent scenery, the beauty of Muuido Island ensured its selection as the filming location for the TV series ‘Stairway of Heaven’. The scene in which Sung-Ju )Kwon Sang Woo) plays a piano in the premier of the series was also filmed on this island.
Namisuem Island – location of ‘Winter Sonata’
The island’s Metasequoia path, a forest path surrounded by white birches and Korean white pines, was one of the locations used during the filming of ‘Winter Sonata’, the famous Korean drama starring Bae Yong-joon and Choi Ji-woo.
Sindo/Mudo – location of ‘Sad Love Story’
The romantic scenic of island represents perfectly the sad love story of Joon-young (Kwon Sang Woo), Hae-in(Kim Hee Sun) and Gun-woo (Yun Jung Hoon). The nearby Sindo kept the original film set open to the public.
