A toast for retiring colleague

Thanks seems  like such short, simple word. It’s not much to describe our appreciation of everything you’ve contributed here. Our appreciation of ur upbeat attitude. Our dependay on your advice-giving. Our notice of your listening nature during the times we shared the good and the bad. Yes, as short, simple and inadequate as Thanks sounds, I want to say it anyway from the bottom of my heart, Thanks. Our best as you go.

This is both sad and happy time. Happy because you going to have time to enjoy yourself. Sad because we hate to say goodbye to a dear friend and colleague.

• The North Korean women's soccer team delayed their game against Colombia for an hour after the players were introduced on the jumbo screen with the South Korean flag. ^[40]

• Paraskevi Papachristou was expelled by the Greek Olympic Committee after posting a racially insensitive tweet.^[41][42]

• South Korean fencer Shin A-Lam was forced to remain on the piste for over an hour after a clock malfunction with one second left at the end of her semifinal match in the individual epeé versus Germany's Britta Heidemann.^[43][44] The appeal from the South Korea was rejected and Germany advanced to lose playing for the Gold Medal. Shin A-Lam was offered a consolation medal but denied the offer.

• In the men's team artistic gymnastics, Japan were promoted to silver medal position after successfully lodging an appeal over Kohei Uchimura's final pommel horse performance.^[45]

• Michel Morganella was expelled from the Olympics after a racist tweet about Koreans after the Swiss football team lost 2-1 to South Korea.
